Brief description of JAAGO Foundation
JAAGO Foundation is a civil society organization (CSO) working towards the education and social mobilization of the underprivileged masses of Bangladesh. With its mission to fight poverty, JAAGO pioneered a Free-of-Cost International Standard School for underprivileged children in remote areas of Bangladesh. JAAGO’s Youth Development Program focuses on national development via the reallocation of skills and resources to foster self–reliance and growth in every young citizen.
Position Summary
The Education Development and Monitoring Coordinator (EDMC) is responsible for overseeing the central monitoring and evaluation of student learning outcomes across all schools, Digital School Program, JAAGO Foundation. This position will work under the Education Supervisor and focus on monitoring student performance, content and training module development, assessment and curriculum revision, and providing capacity-building training for Education Coordinators and Teachers. This role ensures that the educational experience across both the Primary or Secondary grades (depending on the specific position) is consistent, data-driven, and aligned with JAAGO's educational standards.
Job Responsibilities
Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Oversee the central monitoring and evaluation of student learning outcomes across all schools, ensuring regular assessment of academic progress.
- Analyze student performance data and identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement across all subject areas.
- Work closely with Education Coordinators and Teachers to design and implement action plans that address learning gaps.
Curriculum Development & Revision:
- Collaborate with the Education Supervisor and other stakeholders to develop and revise curriculum materials to meet the evolving needs of students.
- Develop need-based teaching resources, including lesson plans, instructional tools, and assessment materials, ensuring alignment with the NCTB curriculum.
- Ensure the curriculum is inclusive, accessible, and culturally responsive.
Teacher & Education Coordinator Support:
- Provide ongoing training and capacity-building for Education Coordinators and Teachers, focusing on improving instructional practices, classroom management, and assessment strategies.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions to enhance the pedagogical skills of the teaching staff.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the training provided to teachers and Education Coordinators and provide feedback to Education Supervisors for further improvement.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Foster effective communication and collaboration between Education Supervisors, and Education Coordinators.
- Actively participate in meetings, workshops, and professional development initiatives to support continuous improvement.
Safeguarding and Gender Sensitivity:
- Promote and maintain a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environment across all schools through training, contents and other activities.
- Ensure that all educational practices and content adhere to JAAGO Foundation's Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.
- Incorporate gender-sensitive, inclusive approaches in all teaching and monitoring activities.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field (alternative qualifications may be considered based on relevant experience).
Experiences:
- At least 5 years of experience in a teaching, content/training development, or educational support role (Secondary Level).
Additional Requirements:
- Proven experience in monitoring student performance, curriculum development, and providing training or support to educators.
- Familiarity with the NCTB curriculum and its implementation at Secondary grade levels, or a strong willingness to learn and adapt.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and support both staff and students.
- Educational monitoring, evaluation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- To work in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of digital tools for teaching, learning management, or data analysis.
- Develop learning framework, contents and training materials.
